This rocky terrain at Puliyarakonam in Thiruvananthapuram suffers from terrible water scarcity. Efforts are being made to recharge the depleting ground water levels here so that farming and forestry can be pursued throughout the year. Apart from bore wells, three pools have been created by carving the rocks, and together the three ponds can hold up to 150,000 litres of water!
